Goji Berry Tea
Goji berry tea is a nutritious herbal infusion made from the dried fruits (called goji, wolfberry, or goji berry) of Lycium chinense and Lycium barbarum, two closely related species of shrubs native to Asia. How to make goji berry tea
- Boil 3-4 cups of water in a teapot
- Add a handful of dried goji berries to the teapot
- Also, add 1-2 cinnamon sticks, some lemon juice, and honey to taste
- Steep for 20-25 minutes
- Stir well
- Strain it into cups
- It can be served chilled by adding some ice
Safety and precautions
Side effects
Even though having it in moderation is safe, its overconsumption might cause nausea, vomiting, indigestion, and diarrhea.
During pregnancy
Since goji berries have betaine, a chemical known for causing miscarriage, women should avoid drinking this tea during pregnancy. Breastfeeding mothers should also avoid its intake.
